Unforeseen Blessing

Do you feel kind of guilty when you pass by the Salvation Army bucket without giving? I do. Almost all the time I have had nothing to put in it. Until this year. One little unforeseen blessing of using cash only is that I now have change at all times and can give a little to the cause. Of course, I can't wait till the day we are debt-free, have our full emergency fund, etc. and can really give without having to focus on paying off this dumb debt!

  1. I do. I was just thinking that as I walked past the guy twice today. I didn't want to just say, "We gave at the office", which is true, but I also hated the fact that I knew I was going to walk by giving nothing upon entrance and exit.

So, I reconciled the event by reminding myself that the volunteers (or in some cases, maybe paid people?) are just trying to do their job and be happy about it. I'll just try to find a couple of opportunities this season to actually remember to have some bills in my wallet for such an occasion.
